So, your website is now up and running. Maybe you've built it yourself, or maybe you've enlisted the help of a web-designer (like myself). Either way, the blog area of your website is a key function that needs to be utilised properly, as it can add to the success of your online presence. Here are three key reasons you should be using your website blog:
- Drives traffic to your site:
You can share snippets of what's available on your blog onto your social media channels, to encourage visitors to your blog and website. Think about all of the other things that are on your website too - you can include a 'call to action' at the bottom of each blog post to encourage users to visit other pages.
- Builds brand trust:
You can use your blog to discuss relevant topics within view of your target audience. For example, if you sell skincare products, you can use your blog to discuss a wide variety of skincare-related topics. A quick, ten-minute brainstorming session can leave you with numerous blog post ideas - they don't have to be pages and pages long!
- Improved SEO:
Blogs are a collection of articles and keywords which drive SEO results, bringing you closer to the top of the search engine results page (SERP). Being on the first page of Google is really important for businesses, because after all, when was the last time you looked at the second page of search results? Hardly ever, I bet!
An additional point for using your blog, is that you might find that it helps with your own creativity. Doing something different liking writing content can really kick your brain into gear and get your creativity flowing, and it's a fantastic way to explore your writing skills.
